About Axiomatic

Axiomatic Founder, Chris Vannoy - a middle-aged dude with glasses - leans over a desk with a laptop, coffee mug and red notebook.

I’m Chris Vannoy. I help software companies ship.

Over twenty-plus years, I’ve worked across news media, ad agencies, marketing technology, and B2B SaaS. I’ve led engineering teams through acquisitions, scaling, and shutdowns. I’ve had a badge to Microsoft’s campus, worked with JP Morgan Chase, and spent two years teaching at a coding bootcamp here in Central Indiana.

Along the way, I’ve learned that most engineering problems aren’t really engineering problems. They’re people problems. Communication problems. Expectation mismatches. Systems that made sense once but don’t anymore.

I started Axiomatic in 2024 to fix those problems—through diagnostics, transformations, coaching, and hands-on work. I embed with teams, find what’s broken, and help them ship again.

Based in Indianapolis. Working with companies nationwide.

A few axioms I’ve picked up:

  • Prefer boring over novel or clever
  • Assume code is broken until proven otherwise
  • First you make it work, then you make it fast, then you make it pretty
  • Fearless engineers are fast engineers
  • Most business problems are people problems
  • Most people problems are communication problems
  • Fridays are the best day to deploy software
